Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about iAssurIA and Swiss insurance.
How does iAssurIA make money?+
iAssurIA earns a commission from partner insurers only if you subscribe to an offer through our platform. This commission does not increase the price of your insurance — it is already built into market rates. You never pay more by using iAssurIA.
Is my data safe?+
Yes. Your data is hosted in Switzerland and Europe, encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your data to third parties. Only the insurer you choose receives your contact details, and only if you explicitly request a quote.
Can I change insurance mid-year?+
Generally, no. Switching LAMal insurance is possible as of December 31 (cancellation before November 30) or June 30 in certain cases (cancellation before March 31). Supplementary insurances have their own cancellation deadlines. iAssurIA will guide you through the process.
What's the difference between LAMal and supplementary?+
LAMal is the mandatory basic health insurance in Switzerland — it covers essential medical care (doctor, hospital, reimbursed medications). Supplementary insurances are optional and cover what LAMal doesn't: private room, alternative medicine, glasses, dental care, extended physiotherapy, etc.
Is iAssurIA independent of insurers?+
iAssurIA is an independent comparison platform. We objectively analyze your profile and recommend the offers that best match your situation — not those that earn the most. We work with major Swiss insurers (CSS, Helsana, Swica, Concordia, Sanitas, KPT, Visana) but our recommendations are always based on your interest.
